Angus Interiors was engaged by TSB Bank during the concept design phase of its new Christchurch CBD branch, working collaboratively with the client and project team to provide practical construction expertise that helped bring an ambitious architectural vision to life.

The tenancy presented a unique challenge, combining a narrow footprint with an impressive six-metre ceiling height. This required innovative design solutions and meticulous planning to create a welcoming, contemporary banking environment while maintaining the integrity of the architectural concept.

A defining feature of the fit-out was the striking overhead ceiling installation, where crisp white acoustic panels were seamlessly integrated with powder-coated timber-look aluminium baffles. Carefully designed and precisely installed, the feature subtly incorporated TSB’s diamond logo, creating a distinctive visual identity within the space.

Throughout the project, our team successfully delivered a range of complex architectural and structural elements, coordinating specialist finishes, bespoke joinery, feature wall systems, advanced security and technology infrastructure, and extensive digital display installations. Significant structural modifications were also undertaken to accommodate mechanical services, support specialist banking equipment, and integrate custom seismic restraint systems, ensuring the completed fit-out met New Zealand’s stringent building and seismic requirements.

Externally, the project extended beyond the tenancy with the construction of a new Oxford Terrace streetscape canopy, creating a strong street presence within one of Christchurch’s busiest pedestrian precincts.
